A night to be Treasured

Yum, yum, yum, in my tum, tum, tum
Masala Restaurant here we come.

This was a night to remember,
In the month of December,

The year 8 dressed so beautifully,
To dine at Masala Restaurant was such a great opportunity.

Across from Mission Bay,
We saw the beautiful view on the sunny day.

Finally we sat down, time to eat!
Woohoo! I jumped up and stomped my feet.

Yummy, I ate spicy Garlic Chicken mild,
and talked with everyone who laughed and smiled.

All our memories of friendship of friendship will always
What a night to never forget,
As we left, the sun began to set.

Retreat!

My 2 days at St. Francis centre was a wonderful experience. I have learnt a lot of leadership skills. I also learnt to not be afraid and stand up for myself.

As I lit my first candle, I prayed for the year 8’s to receive God’s direction on our new journey.
So we can become great confident leaders, at our school.

The 1st day of retreat was amazing! My highlight was making our ark. We studied the story of Noah and the ark. The year 8’s got their buddies and each got a bag, of twigs, paper, cardboard, plastic paper and fake money. Lisi, Robertanna's aunty had the tape. We had to buy it off her. Lucky, I had $65 in my bag. We started making our arks. I was with Angelica and Ilaisaane. We had to put 3 stones in our ark, so we tried making it big to balance it.

Well guess what? When we finished everyone went to the fish pond and our one sank first! That was unexpected. I expected it to stay on the top. Well it didn’t. We saw who’s ark was still floating. Actually the small, light arks were floating. I think our one sank because it was pretty heavy. Do you know who won? Well I’ll tell you, It was Lavinia’s team, Zephaniah, Rolland and Siu’s team. “Congrats” said everyone, who lost!

I had the best of fun spending time with the year 8 students and enjoyed every bit of it

Our Mass of 2012, Term 1.

Last Friday was a special occasion for St Pius X school. It was our first opening mass for 2012, Term 1. This is what we do as a catholic school. The mass was special event as the teachers got blessed by the whole school at the end. I felt lucky to have such great teachers at our school.

During the mass, Ofa beautifully read the first reading. I learnt to not loaf around, and
should concentrate on my school work to achieve my goal. I read the collect prayer. I honestly was proud to read a prayer as the first mass.

The offer tory was brought to the alter by the teachers. It was lovely to see the teachers doing the offer tory for the 1st time. They each brought lovely candles. At the end of the mass I saw Parents and grandparents at our mass to support us. Also young children from the playgroup. They all had big beautiful smiles on their faces. To finish the mass everyone sang a song. It was a great way to start of the year.

Class, by class walked to their classroom. I felt happy and was prepared for another learning day. What a mass!

World War 2

..September 1939..
My family-that is me, my parents and 1 brother lived in an apartment in moorpark street. Other parts of moorpark were richer, with bigger houses, but I still liked where we lived. It was friendly. Mothers had to invent planes and weapons. Us children worked at the farms, milking cows to drink.
It was 1939, WW2, the Germans were invading England. In those days vehicles weren't invented. So we wrote letters to each other. People didn’t have that much food than others.

A month later, It was time for all the Fathers, brothers and uncle’s to go and attack their enemies. My brother and I stayed with a friend named Robertanna. She had beautiful brown eyes and was a generous girl. I was very sad, that my father wouldn’t survive.

As the men from war arrived, we were looking for our fathers. But some didn’t survive, just like mine. I cried every night. I stayed with Robertanna for awhile. She was hideous, tall and fat and was the kindest person.
I hope that my Dad will R.I.P...

1st Swimming experience.

'This is it'! our 1st experience to swim in our pool.
As I took a big step into the pool, I felt a cold feeling inside me. Everyone started to swam. I did as well, and got use to the warmth.

I loved playing 'Salmon says'. Mr Burton, our lifeguard, whistled every time someone would speak.
IT was an STUPENDOUS experience getting to learn new skills.

Just as I stepped out of the pool, drips of water ran down my body. I grew goose bumps on my arms and legs. I wrapped my towel around me and shivered all the way to the bathroom.

First T3 Post

‘Wow’!, here I am with another learning term. I’m back from two weeks of holiday. I’m looking
forward to experiencing our new half metre pool at school.
Most of all I am actually looking forward to the... WORLD RUGBY CUP!, because I am so lucky to live in New Zealand just here in my city of Auckland. This is the most awesome experience to happen in New Zealand.

Persuasive Litter Poem

Everyone knows it is bad to litter,
So give them a bitter lemon,
and clean the place like heaven,
Please clean the place,
So everyone could be happy,
especially pick up the nappy.

We should clean the place everyday,
that’s what I like hooray,
If we mess this place the world will be a huge disaster,
So come on clean it faster,

This place is insane,
So we should never litter again,
Let’s make it a better world,
before a tornado will come to twirl.

Dear Mother and Father and all the family,

My friends have died, but I am the only one alone in this war world 2.
My Family I love you with all my heart and I wish if I could come right now with all of my friends to have dinner but unfortunately they are dead. My captain asked me to leave and come back home, because I was the only one who survived and I wish I see you all when I come there till my mission is established.

Sincerely Dorothy!

See you there

I am model

I am a special character and have a talent playing netball.
I wonder if unicorns are real.
I hear the angels sing.
I see God creating miracles.
I want to be a great netball player.
I am a special character and have a talent playing netball.

I pretend I am in a magical world.
I feel GOD praying with me.
I touch Jesus’ hands.
I worry when something bad happens to my family.
I cry when I’m not well.
I am a special character and have a talent playing netball.

I understand the good news of Jesus.
I say I believe in Jesus.
I dream to be a doctor.
I try to achieve my goals.
I hope I will have a good future.
I am a special character and have a talent playing netball.

A Great Tool

Many students agree that the net books we use are a great tool because, it helps us more with our learning. (Example) if we are studying on the Silver ferns netball team we can just jump on Internet and search for them right away. It’s a faster and easier way.
I believe that the net book is an awesome tool because, when we want to ask our teacher something and with the class not knowing, we can just ask them on chat or email.
The net book is really fun to use. It helps me with my blogging, searching also helps me with typing skills. It really helps me with my spelling and because we can share our work with our teachers and other people.
I hope that I will try hard on my work, plus work hard to achieve my goals.

The 2011 sendai earthquake and tsunami

THIS IS THE WORST DISASTER JAPAN HAS EVER EXPERIENCED.

The earthquake triggered tsunami warnings along Japan’s pacific coast to at least 20 countries neighboring pacific coast of North America and South America. The earthquake created extremely destructive tsunami waves that towered above sea level by as must as 10 metres as it struck Japan minutes after the quake, happened with smaller waves reaching many other countries several hours later . In Japan, the waves are reported to travel up to 10 km inland.
The Japanese National Police Agency has officially confirmed 2,414 deaths, 1,885 injuries and 3,118 people missing across sixteen prefectures, but estimated numbers are far higher, ranging from thousands to tens of thousands dead or missing. The earthquake and tsunami caused intensive and severe damage in Japan, including heavy damage to roads and railways as well as fires in many areas, and a dam collapsed.
Around 4.4 million households in northeastern Japan were left without electricity and 1.4 million without water.

The day of ashes

It was Wednesday the day to receive ashes on our foreheads. We, room 7 sat down with the whole school. We waited for our priest father Ieosefa. He slowly walked down the aisle to the alter, while we sang the entrance hymn.
Mass was nearly over, but there was still one more thing to do. That was to bless the room7& 6’s. We stood up very tall and smart. Father Ieosefa blessed us with the holy water, so we could choose to do the right thing with our netbooks not the wrong.
