A Beautiful Day On A Sunday

On an early Sunday morning I was watching the sky waiting till it was 10:00am for church. It was time for my sister and I to get ready. The clock struck 10:00am. I was walking to church and I saw Robertanna and Agnes.

Wow! The hall was full of people crowded like there was a party going on. I ran as fast as I could to my class. Just in time to start the mass. Seini. S started off saying good morning to everyone. Up we stood singing “As we Gather.”

Father Iosefa then started off saying the sign of the cross in Maori. We sat back down and a few people said prayers like prayers of the faithful. A couple of songs were sung too.

Parents stood up to say a few words and recieved beautiful pink flowers from helping our school. They looked beautiful and they deserved getting them as they did something really good helping our school.

The bread and wine we ready and we walked up to the alter.

Everyone went outside when the mass was finished. ‘Mmmmm’ I smelt delicious food. I bought Panikeke’s and hot Sausage Sizzle. I played on the playground for a while with Angelica, Fetuli and Emelia.

Oh no it started spitting. I said goodbye to my friends then ran home and headed straight to the shower.

The Iron Brian BBQ Road Show!

It finally started off with music playing and student’s standing up being crazy animals. A lady called Sarah introduced herself to everyone and said she was playing hide and seek with Iron Brian. She also asked if we saw him, but we all said “no”.

Boo! Iron Brian popped out, “Hey, everybody”, "hi" I shouted. Iron Brian waved and danced everywhere. Sarah said “where were you hiding?” to Iron Brian. Iron Brian said he was hiding in the toilets......ewwwwwwww, the girls toilets.

Mmmmm, yum! something smelled delicious, it was burgers - my favourite. There was going to be questions being asked, presents given out, dancing competitions and much more. First there were pictures flipped over by Sarah. There was a picture called ‘meat and meat alternative, fruit and vegetables, milk and dairy products and lastly bread and cereals.

We all shouted out what it said on the huge board of vitamin +c and minerals. Iron Brian said he smelled something stinky and horrible, Sarah thought it was his socks he said “maybe your right I haven't washed them yet!”. Iron Brion said to everyone “who needs Iron” and we all shouted “everyone in the whole entire world”.

There was questions asked by Iron Brian and even answers by the audience. There were prizes like slap bands and sacks of balls. I got chosen to answer a question. I was so excited and I got the question right, so I won a slap-band.

YAY! there was going to be a dancing competition. Only two people in each class were allowed to dance. The music started so loud, Shaianne was dancing as hard, but the winner was Tokilupe in room 4.

Next was the Iron Brian Boogie. Everyone stood up and joined in, it was actually good exercise.

Iron Brian is so cool, he is a hilarious actor and really loves children. I felt really hungry while the show was on because of the delicious smelling burgers. Iron Brion said there was going to be 2 groups to dances and the winner gets to eat the burgers first. My team danced the Iron Brian Boogie first then the next group. Boohoo! we lost but that was fine.

Mmmmm the burgers were delicious. Miss G took pictures of my friends and I eating together. I had so much fun and I hope Iron Brian will come again to visit our school.

Talent Quest

Hooray! It’s time for talent quest, people were changing so quickly in the corridor.

Wow! A’leina and Sia were going to be performing a Samoan dance. They had white feathers in their hair. Miss G and Mrs Pole thought there was a chicken running past the corridor laying eggs but it actually was A’leina’s feathers in her hair. Emelia and Robertanna were getting ready too, to do their amazing Cook Island HULA HULA.

Now it was time to be in the hall watching people dancing, singing and playing instruments.

STOMP STOMP! Simone, Justice, Angelica and Grace when up onto the stage to do their performance. They did a pretty good job. Next was Sia and A’leina. “CHAHO!!!” Sia shouted. They were cool and I loved it.

Robertanna and Emelia stood up and went up to the stage. Everyone shouted “YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!”. Robertanna and Emelia kneeled down onto their knees. Away the music went and Robertanna and Emelia started shaking their bottoms off. I shouted “GO ROBBIE!!!”. Some of her family came and put money on them.

After they finished it was time for a different subject........a little bit of singing was in order. Latai, Rachel and Hifo were singing ‘Lean On Me’. Oh how sad, Latai starting crying with her dripping tears falling down. Everyone felt sorry for her so we all sang and clapped along. They played the ukelele so beautifully that it made me want to hear more.

“Go Moli’s team” we all shouted. Cool they were doing a dance to a remix. Only 7 of them were dancing. Some of the audience were dancing around too and singing. Awww! my ears hurt when the loud music and their feet were stomping wildly like animals, but was still cool. Next was Malia by her self performing ballerina moves.

It finally finished off with Mr Coakley saying a speech. We all cheered for all of the performers and headed straight to class to eat our fish n’ chips with
our soul friends.

My Old Teddy Bear

My teddy bear is warm and fluffy. It is as brown as dark ice-cream chocolate. It has always been there for me ever since I was 3 years old. It’s nose is as shiny as my gold necklace. My teddy bear is as small as my little sisters treasure box.

I always used to dress her up and take her everywhere.
I snooze up in bed with my teddy bear and cuddle her so tight. We cuddle up together and read a little poem sometimes.

It’s always there for me on scary nights.

Great Dorothy, you have some good vocabulary choices here. I really like the way you have shown how much you really love your teddy bear. Well done.
